Michael here! A few things about me:
I am an aspiring UX Researcher and Designer based in Austin, TX, pursuing a Master of Science in Human-Centered Design and Engineering from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

My professional background is nothing short of interesting: Musician, Army Veteran, College Graduate, and Aviation Planning Specialist.

I enjoy creating music and digital art, and searching for vintage SciFi films. The more obscure, the better.

My Interest in User Research
The question "why?" defines my motivation. Unique to the question is an at times endless journey leading to nothing but the question itself.

It's at this point that my instinct to uncover answers kicks in. I want to know why things work, why they don't, why people behave the way they do, or why they run into trouble toasting a bagel without burning it. Uncovering answers to "why?" is never-ending, and each discovery is rewarding.
My Current Projects
Throughout my second semester at UM-Dearborn, I've completed two projects that focus on integrating Artificial Intelligence into a web-based note-taking application and study tool, and an In-Vehicle Infotainment System (IVIS).

Both projects sought to synthesize user research into actionable solutions that emphasize an AI user partnership.
A Snap-Shot into Current Interests
Currently, I'm curious about the balance between artificial intelligence and users. I want to better understand how to implement AI-driven solutions as assistants, where users maintain their agency while interacting with systems.
